Cumnor too Good for Chearsley
By Chearsley CC
Weather was nice though
Chearsley's mid-season slump continued with a heavy defeat at Cumnor 2's. Acting skipper Matt Ricketts not only had a scratch side but lost the toss. Marc Hignell and Andy Crichton added 19 for the first wicket but only Ricketts with 24 made any telling contribution of the top 7.At one time they were 61 for 6, but he added 34 with Adam Lazaruk (19)for the seventh wicket. Tom Gadsby (20) and Dan Spiers (12) added a further 35 for the 9th wicket but the innings folded at 137 in the 34th over. Carl Thompson was the hosts best bowler with 5 for 51.
Without bowling spearhead Ed Holland Chearsley bowling looked ordinary and Jimmy Lee (71) and Alex Hodder-Williams (49 n o ) added 117 for the first wicket and although Marc Hignell captured 2 for 13 Cumnor romped home with 40+ overs to spare.
